Bioclimatic Pergola Over a Hot Tub in Sligo

1 min read

A hot tub is at its best on a cold, wet evening – as long as you are not sitting in the rain. For this garden in Sligo we covered a sunken hot tub with an anthracite bioclimatic pergola, so it can be used all year.

What we installed

  • Bioclimatic pergola with a motorised louvred roof – open for sun and steam, closed for rain

  • Warm LED light line around the inside of the frame

  • Side screen that rolls down for privacy and wind protection

  • Sliding louvred shutters across the back

  • Posts fixed on top of the stone retaining walls, so the hot tub sits neatly inside the frame

Why a bioclimatic roof suits a hot tub

  • Steam escapes when the louvres are open, so there is no damp build-up under the roof

  • Closed louvres keep rain, leaves and bird droppings off the hot tub cover

  • The LED light line makes evening use safe and relaxing

  • Screens and shutters add privacy from neighbours

Planning your own hot tub cover

Every pergola we fit is made to measure. Send us a photo of your hot tub area and rough sizes and we will come back with options and a fitted price.
