Bioclimatic Pergola or Retractable Pergola? Two New Videos From Our Projects
We have just published two new short videos from our recent work: a drone film of a bioclimatic pergola with motorised louvres and a ZIP screen, and a close look at the Pergola Flat with its retractable roof. Both are made for Irish weather, but they work in different ways. Here is how to choose.

Bioclimatic pergola: louvres you control
A bioclimatic pergola has a roof of aluminium louvres that rotate at the touch of a button. Open them for sun and air, angle them for shade, or close them completely when it rains. Water runs into the gutters and down through the posts, so the patio stays dry.
Motorised louvres with remote or app control
Fully waterproof when closed
Add ZIP screens, sliding glass and LED lighting
Ideal for patios, hot tubs and outdoor kitchens
See our installations and options on the bioclimatic pergola page.

Pergola Flat: a retractable roof
The Pergola Flat uses a waterproof fabric roof that slides open or closed in seconds. When it is open you get the full sky; when it is closed you get shade and shelter from the rain. It is a great choice when you want a lighter look and a fully open roof on sunny days.
Retractable waterproof fabric roof
Opens fully for sun, closes for shade or rain
Slim, modern aluminium frame
Options: ZIP screens, glass walls and LED lighting
Read more about it on our pergola page.

Close it in with glass
Both systems can be closed in with frameless or framed sliding glass walls, so you can use your outdoor room for more of the year. See all our glass options on the glass enclosures page.
