Commercial Awnings for Pubs, Cafés, Restaurants & Shops in Ireland
A good commercial awning does two jobs. It keeps customers dry and shaded, so outdoor seating works more of the year, and it shows your name to everyone walking past. This guide covers the awnings we fit for pubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels and shops across Ireland.
Types of commercial awning
Retractable restaurant and café awnings
Folding-arm retractable awnings project up to several metres from the wall and cover an outdoor seating area. With a motor and remote, staff can open or close them in seconds, and a wind sensor retracts them automatically in strong gusts.
Shopfront awnings
Shorter awnings over windows and doors protect displays from the sun and give the frontage a finished look. The valance (the front flap) is ideal for your name and logo.

Large terraces and beer gardens
When the area is too large for an awning, or needs to stay covered in heavy rain, a commercial pergola with a fixed or retractable roof is the better choice. Many venues combine both.
Logo printing and branding
We print your logo and lettering on the awning fabric or valance, in your colours. Read more about custom awnings with your logo.

What makes an awning suitable for commercial use
Heavy-duty arms and brackets sized for the width and projection.
Solution-dyed acrylic fabric that resists fading and is easy to clean.
Motorisation with remote control and an automatic wind sensor.
Optional LED lighting and heaters for evening trade.
Recovering service when the fabric needs replacing: see awning recover and repair.
Planning and permissions
Awnings over a public footpath may need permission from the local council. We can advise during the survey. See our guide on planning permission for awnings in Ireland.
Complete outdoor packages
We also supply commercial parasols, café barriers and wind barriers, so the whole outdoor area can be planned and fitted by one team. See all commercial projects.
